The Bike-Fiend Colored!
Well this was my final project for school this semester, phew!
Over break I will be doing some more things for my own benefit and be building up some pieces for a show that my friend Tait Howard and I want to host in Savannah. More info to come on that.....

  1. Very cool! The stuff you'll do for this once-and-future gallery show, will it be prints of digitally colored things? As a digital artist (currently), I'm concerned with the medium's appeal to fine arts galleries. Thoughts?

  2. Im totally in the same boat...
For the upcoming show, i might have a mix, but mostly digital prints. However, this show is probably only going to be for fun, im not looking to sell anything, but as for others, i definitely feel discouraged from doing any digital touch-ups. Im actually kinda scared to see what will happen when i get into more shows in the future and ask about submitting a digital piece, but on the plus side, if you make prints, you can sell multiple prints for cheaper, so i think its really just depends on who you market to. In the end, art is art and it should be seen either way, print or not, but im not entirely sure if other fine art galleries would agree :/

  3. Thanks for the input. From my experience, fine art galleries avoid digital art like the plague. Their bread and butter is unique art. With digital, there's never really an 'original'; it's only ever a print. I went to a gallery here in my hometown of Columbus Ohio that wasn't even aware of the existence of digital art. You have to do something really novel and noteworthy to be recognized by fine art galleries, if you're a digital artist. And I can count, um, TWO digital artists in that category. Color me annoyed. And rambling. At any rate, best of luck!
