heres an image dump of a handful of portraits that ive done this past week. I guess it's been a challenge trying to find my favorite method of sketching faces, but ive definitely learned a lot so far by repeating certain techniques over and over and over in such a short span of time. It makes me worried about the amount of finished work I would like to see myself produce by the end of this semester, but i think ill make it work. I usually always do.
bah, i had so much fun with the conte on mylar! iunno about using it for a final medium with my illustration cause it was a little harder to control than i thought... I actually just tried charcoal on mylar with turpentine and THAT was super cool too.
I always look at the ways you draw eyes. It seems as if they have their own source of light or swimming in oil (that's the only way I could describe it) and haunting as well. Anyway, your portraits are good. The decayed animal with crows which is on your website is unforgettable. Hope I could be as good as you someday.
Thanks krup! i really appreciate the kind words. I have no doubt that if you draw as much as you can that you could be amazing. seriously, practice practice practice!
I love the mood in the conté portrait. Great work, Sam!
